    Defense of the Ancients news

ADC goes ENADC, GGC is kicking it big time for Europe and North-America!

DotA players all over the world - or maybe just in Europe and North America - arise and feel happy, for that your prayers have finally reached the ears of the GG-Client Staff, in February, GGC will launch a DotA tournament for Europe and North America, read all about it right here and nowhere else!

GGC will host a DotA tournament with cash prizes in February for everyone who has got a team and is willing to put it to a test with the best teams in the world. Unlike many other tournaments GGC will host this tournament without a sponsor and will provide mainly cash prizes, this might be very attracting for the professional DotA teams, since they dont really need more headsets and mousepads!

A short statement by Egypt GG.KillerLegend, GGC-moderator and league admin

After the great success of our DotA Championship “ADC” in Asia, we felt, that we need to host another DotA championship for Europe and North America, the tour is available for all teams from those regions to compete and get a chance to win our prizes and get their team in our new ranking system. Top teams in our ranking system will get some surprises to be announced later.

This tournament differs from other known tours in a lot of matters, so carefully read the list below for the basic facts around ENADC:

  • GGC will launch the signup at february 1st.
  • The map will be 6.48b, the mode will be APXL (pregame draft)
  • There are no herobans, the new heroes are allowed aswell
  • Prizes are 600$, 400$, 200$ and maybe some GGC-adds like premium accounts

"If you want to see the new heroes in action, then don’t miss this tournament cause we won’t ban any."

    - GG.KillerLegend

Since this is a pretty big tournament and because GGC is very well known in the DotA-scene, the mass of players will be divided in three sections, which are North America, West-Europe and East-Europe. The teams of each region will compete in qualifiers in a bo1 single-elimination tournament, at the end of those qualifiers the best 5 of North-America and West-Europe will go into the group stage together with the best 6 East-European teams, where they will be split up into 4 groups with 4 teams each. Once in group stage, every team plays their 3 opponents in a bo3; the best two teams out of every group will advance to the playoff stage where they face each other in a bo3 single elimination in the first round and then advance to a bo3 double elimination format in the next round to fight for the crown and the money. Since this tournament is meant to be more than a one-time-event the GGC-leadership decided, to seed the top 4 teams directly into the group stage of ENADC 2.
